Hit the Riverpark with the folks today. Got on the water early at 6:30 to get my dad some topwater action. First stop he gets a deformed 14" largemouth. Then a little ways down he boated a nice 16.5" LM, both of these coming on torpedo.
Gave up on that bank and hit the area Alvin I did well on yesterday. The fish were still there. Mom boated about 4 google eyes in about 10 minutes while pops was missing a bass about every 3rd cast. Took a while but he finally started putting fish in the boat. Mom lost a pig LM around 3.5-4 lbs on a pig n jig at the boat. Came up, jumped and threw the bait.
Around 9 the clouds and wind rolled in. Quick look at the radar and we decided to hit the road. Mom has been sick this week with sinus issues and getting wet was not an option plus the wind really killed the topwater bite.
So for our 2.5 hours we boated 16 spots, 3 LM, 15 google eyes, 1 redbreast and 1 pumpinseed (I think). 36 fish boated in 2.5 hours. Me and pops missed probably 30-40 on topwater. They would just blow up on it and not take the bait. Fun stuff. Caught most of the google eyes on crappie jigs and mom got a few on pig n jig. Redbreasts are still a now show, only boated 1 large male.
