Sakuma Hooks
Sakuma Hooks
The Sakuma range of hooks where imported from Japan back in 1999. The popularity of the hook started growing as the word spread that the hooks to be using for sea fishing where Sakuma.

Since then the Sakuma hook range has grew tenfold and now hooks such as Sakuma Manta, Sakuma Stinger, Sakuma Baitholder and new to the range Sakuma China are now all imported to the UK.
The Sakuma range are forged to an excellent standard and are chemically sharpened to offer the sharpest of points.
Sakuma hooks have been compared to the likes off Varivas, Kamasans and Mustads. It's seems that peoples decisions of whether they prefer them over the other brands of sea fishing hooks is split with people agreeing that they are decent hooks and definitely worth a try. Just one try of a Sakuma manta 540 had me converted. I haven't used another brand since.
I can personally vouch for the Manta range and the stinger.
The sakuma manta 540 are available in a range of sizes from size 5/0 down to size 6. If you need a similar style hook but for the bigger fish found on wrecks then the Sakuma Manta Extra are excellent and are sized from 8/0 down to size 2/0. The manta extra are forged from a thicker wire than the Sakuma Manta 540. The Stinger range of hooks must be the best hook I've used for smaller species over the past 18 month. They are excellent for fish such as whiting, flounder, plaice and codling. The stinger hooks are the perfect match hook.
I'm sure just like the whole Sakuma brand their range of hooks will keep growing over the next few years. They already have over 22 different styles of hooks available to purchase in all good tackle shops and online.
Well worth the pennies, give them a try and see.
