Troy Truesdell of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, was recently awarded the 2006 Art of Conservation Stamp Award, national Best of Show honors and the People's Choice Award during the 8th Annual Wildlife Forever State-Fish Art Expo.

"This is an awesome honor that I did not expect,” says Truesdell, a graduating senior at Simley High School. “I'm a walleye and largemouth bass fisherman and I learned about the need to conserve fish habitat through participating in the State-Fish Art Contest. Minneapolis, Minnesota - After an impressive performance at the 2005 Wal-Mart Open, country music star Craig Morgan will give an encore to bass fishing fans attending the $1.5 million Wal-Mart FLW Tour Championship. The concert, which is presented by Chevy, is slated to take place on Aug. 5 at 4 p.m., shortly before the day-four weigh-in at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex Arena. Morgan's current album, "My Kind of Livin'," has stayed strong since its release, residing on the Billboard charts for more than 60 weeks. It has spawned two No. 1 singles, including "That's What I Love About Sunday," which was the No. 1 Most Heard Song of 2005, according to both Billboard and Radio & Records and "Redneck Yacht Club," which is a huge hit among fishing fans. Morgan's current single, "I Got You," has reached the top 15 on the charts. Morgan was also honored earlier this year by the USO with the 2006 USO Merit Award for his dedication to assisting others through his charitable works. Morgan, who aims to communicate about the small, meaningful things in our everyday life, released his first album, self-titled "Craig Morgan" (Atlantic Records) in 2000 as well as "I Love It" (Broken Bow Records) in 2003. "I've come to understand that the good songs come naturally," he said. "They talk about natural things: Things that might seem mundane or common are the things that we all can envision about ourselves because they're what we do - or, if we don't, they're what we want to do." Championship contenders will take off from Pell City Lakeside Park, located at 2801 Stemley Bridge Road in Pell City at 7 a.m. each day, and daily weigh-ins will be held at 5 p.m. in the BJCC Arena.
