CONCORD, N.H. -- Search operations continued today for the recovery of James Sylvestre, age 45, of Hooksett, New Hampshire, who is presumed drowned after falling overboard from the M/S Mount Washington excursion ship on Saturday night, October 28, 2006, on Lake Winnipesaukee.

CONCORD, N.H -- On Wednesday, October 25, 2006, tracking K-9 "Poacher" located a man who allegedly stole and abandoned a truck in Wolfeboro. According to a witness, the suspect, Joshua Smart, age 27, who is from the Wolfeboro area, stole the Chevy pickup truck at about 2:45 in the afternoon.

ANADROMOUS FISH PROGRAM HAS NEW STOCKING TRUCK, THANKS TO JOINT EFFORT Unveiling at N.H. Fish and Game Department, October 18 at 1:15 p.m.

CONCORD, N.H. - A new stocking truck that will serve as a "fish shuttle" for the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department's Anadromous Fish Program will be unveiled on Wednesday, October 18, at 1:15 p.m. in front of the Fish and Game headquarters building at 11 Hazen Drive in Concord. Anadromous fish are sea-running fish, such as Atlantic salmon, herring and shad, which swim up rivers to spawn in fresh water.

CONCORD, N.H. -- Herring fishermen and dealers should be aware that herring spawning areas within the jurisdiction of New Hampshire will be closed from 1:00 a.m. on September 21, 2006, through 1:00 a.m. on October 20, 2006 (pursuant to closure regulations Fis 603.07), according to the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.

53rd ANNUAL TRAPPERS RENDEZVOUS, SEPTEMBER 16-17

HOLDERNESS, N.H. -- On September 16-17, the New Hampshire Trappers Association (NHTA) will hold their 53rd Annual Trappers Rendezvous at the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department's Owl Brook Hunter Education Center in Holderness, featuring ongoing demonstrations, trapping supply vendors and activities for the kids. Rendezvous attractions will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 16; and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 17. Interested members of the public are welcome to attend. The N.H. Trappers Association annual fall meeting will take place on Sunday from 1 - 3 p.m.

CONCORD, N.H. -- New Hampshire anglers can now access 166 depth maps of the state's lakes and ponds from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department website. Developed from N.H. Department of Environmental Services lake survey data, the depth ("bathymetry") maps cover a large portion of the state's waterbodies and can be an important tool to help both expert and rookie anglers have a great day of fishing.
While they are not recommended for navigational use, the maps can help anglers find the sharp dropoff points and other rapid changes in water depth where there is a rich abundance of fish during warm summer months. In addition to providing depth measurements, they also include species lists, access information, and road systems in the surrounding area.
