The Lake Palestine water is lightly stained and 80 to 84 Degrees F. and is around 6' low. The Largemouth Bass are pretty good on shallow running crankbaits, spinner-baits and bladed-jigs. The shallow bite is improving a little. The Crappie are also good on live-minnows and jigs. The Hybrid striper fishing is fair on slabs, Sassy Shad and live-shad. The White bass are only fair to good on slabs and live-minnows. The Catfish are pretty good on prepared bait.
The Choke Canyon water is rather clear and 72 to 76 Degrees F. and is10.79’ low. The Largemouth Bass are good on pumpkin-seed soft plastic worms and Rat–L–Traps. The White bass are only slow at this time. The Crappie are also slow. The Channel and blue catfish are only fair on stink-bait in 10 to 20 feet of water. The Yellow Cats are fair on live-perch and gold-fish.
The water is stained and 66–72 degrees F. and 3.04’ low. Largemouth Bass are good on Texas rigs and black and blue jigs. White bass are good throughout day on slabs. Hybrid striper are fair on live shad and large slabs jigged vertically. The Crappie are fair to good on live minnows with shallow bite improving. Catfish are fair drifting cut shad.
The water is clear and 68 – 71 degrees F. and 2.98’ low. Largemouth Bass are good on JDC spider Grubs, pumpkinseed Whacky Sticks on jigheads, and grape Scoundrel worms on shaky jigheads along 8 – 15 foot break lines. The Striped bass are fair on crank-baits, and vertically jigging silver Pirk live minnows and white Curb’s striper jigs. White bass are fair vertically jigging Pirk live minnows, and trolling Daiwa Shad Masters and Shad Raps in 10 – 25 feet. Smallmouth bass are good on water melon Rat L Traps, JDC curl tail grubs, and 6” water melon Scoundrels on jigheads along main lake points in 10 – 20 feet. The Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are good on live bait.
The water is clear and 70 – 74 degrees F. and 0.29’ high. Largemouth Bass are very good on crank-baits, top water, spinner-baits, and soft plastics. The Striped bass are good on large top water and Red Fins. White bass are fair on shallow running crank-baits. The Crappie are slow. Catfish are good on cheese-bait, shrimp, and night-crawlers in 2 – 10 feet. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines and droplines baited with live perch. Everyone in a boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.
