If you are used to fishing with a jig then you will find that fishing for bass with a crankbait completely different. Fishermen that employ a jig regularly, will be aware that the way in which a jig lure works largely relies on the input of the user. With a crankbait lure, however, its action is in built. This is achieved by a lip on the face of the crankbait. The size of this lip will dictate at which depth the lure will dive to. When fishing in stretches of water that have a lot of weed and reed growth, the crainkbait's action will assist in keeping the three hooks upright thus avoiding possible catching up in the vegetation that may lay on the riverbed, which is ideal for the bass angler.
